Abstract
Rural banking had realized that self management practices would give important contribution to the work satisfaction. This research investigated the role of self management practices influencing work satisfaction for employees in rural banking (BPR). It was a survey research by survey research type. The respondents were the employees in rural banking organizations in Magelang regency, Central Java. The technique of sampling utilized purposive sampling. The number of sample, which required the criteria to be examined, was 111 respondents. The technique of statistics applied in this research was partial regression. The result of hypothesis examining explained that; there was planning and goal setting influence to work satisfaction; there was access management influence to work satisfaction;  there was catch up activities influence to work satisfaction; and there was emotion management influence to work satisfaction.
